The above link is to a matter filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas in which an order is sought compelling Brownback to investigate corruption in the Dept. of Justice. Brownback, so far has refused to take action upon disclosures of criminal activity received by his office.

I’m always amazed to hear a self-described conservative who supports any member of the republic party in Congress over the last 6 years. Brownback and his fellow republics have allowed GWB to take the party light years away from it’s true meaning. Our deficit has never been higher, (guess who owns us? China and Japan!) and we now have a larger and more intrusive government which has been plagued by ineptitude and incompetence. Any self-respecting conservative (and I know MANY) should be doing everything they can to clean out the rat’s nest that has been made of the republic party.

By the way, Romney is meat. The fundies are already starting to pick his carcass. The AP reported yesterday that his great grandfather was a bigtime polygamist. Guilt by association. It’s unfortunate that the party has been hijacked by religious extremism.

vaara, those of us considering Sam Brownback to vote for president, do so because we are social conservatives, and we believe that except for racial discrimination and the advancement of women, the country was much better before the 1960’s which you symbolize. Plus, Sam adds a note of compassion to his conservatism. However, we conservatives are concerned about his too liberal stance on letting too many to immigrate too fast (note, does not mean we are against immigration, my grandparents were immigrants), and VERY concerned that his campaign is not firing on all engines as compared to, e.g., his main opponent on the GOP right, Mitt Romney.

Is that the best you offer, vaara? You’ve said nothing but the contrary, with broad accusations and emotion-based argument as debate. So what if people want to vote for Brownback? It’s been said many, many times on this website that he has no chance of winning. Why bother “savaging” him then?

Hope you don’t mind a Red stater from the Bluest of all (MA) once in a while. We have some lefties who grace the more conservative sites. After all, we’re all human, all Americans. So far, we love Sam, more than Mitt. There’s no reason to think that Sam couldn’t win the same states President Bush did. But if one of your lefties win, we’ll unite behind him or her, too,
